About Me

Hello, my name is Vicki. I am a qualified British Maternity Nurse, who has worked in the Childcare industry since 1996. I have worked as a Nanny, Childcare Assessor, Nursery Manager and since 2013 as a Maternity Nurse. I qualified in Early Years in 1999, and have undertaken many more courses over the years. Including gaining my Maternity Practitioner Level 3 in 2002, Degree in Early Years in 2015, along with Breastfeeding and Sleep Training courses. I have worked with many different families, nationwide and abroad, gaining a wealth of experience over the years. I love my job, and couldn’t think of a better career. I enjoy working with families and feel it’s a very rewarding job being part of helping to settle your new little babies into the family home.

I am a member of the ABBP (Association of Birth and Baby Professionals), the Maternity Nurse Association, along with the International Association of Paediatric Sleep Association and the British Sleep Society. As a self-employed Maternity Nurse, I take care of my tax, national insurance and pension costs. I have public liability insurance along with a DBS (criminal records) check, and First Aid Certificate that gets renewed every three years. I also have my car insured for work use and hold a full clean UK driving licence. I am currently based in Lincolnshire; however willing to travel.

Since 2013 I have specialised in newborn care, working closely with new parents to care for their babies. I have worked with many parents, giving them the confidence to care for their precious babies, showing them the basics of nappy changing, bathing and advice on feeding and sleeping. I work full 24hr care, days or nights, depending on the famili’s needs, always working with families to help make such a special time as relaxed and calm as possible. I have experience with babies with reflux, cows milk intolerances, tongue ties, breastfeeding, formula feeding, mixed feeding, 1st babies through to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th babies! I am UK based but willing to travel. I have travelled with families, on their summer holidays to help parents have a well earned break, or helped if families live abroad and would like support from a Maternity Nurse in the first few weeks with their baby.

Before becoming a Maternity Nurse I spent almost 20 years working with many different families. Starting my career in day nurseries gaining a huge amount of experience in childcare and development. From there, I worked as a private Nanny for different families, working closely within the family home. Looking after the children’s complete developmental needs, organising age appropriate activities covering social, emotional, physical and intellectual development along with nutritional needs. From nannying, I became a Childcare Assessor, assessing Nursery Nurses within the nursery setting, ensuring they had the training and skills to become qualified Nursery Nurses. I have also worked as a Nursery Manager in a Day Nursery, caring for children, families and Nursery Nurses. Working closely with parents, staff and official agencies to ensure the care and safety of the children was adhered to at all times.  I have spent much of my career Nannying, working with families in their own homes has been my passion, what I have enjoyed the most, and always gone back to.
